The Spiritual Path leads to undifferentiated Oneness beyond all Light and beyond all Sound. Nothing could be simpler!
And yet when we walk the Path it is our intrinsic Nature to complicate everything. The culprit is of course our mind; it never stops asking questions. There seems to be a security in knowing!
However this type of knowing is an illusion. Scientists may tell us about the structure of an atom but that is not what an atom is; they are just giving us a model. In the same way a recipe for a meal cannot possibly convey taste and nutrition.
It is said that the only Light you can get from a book is by setting fire to it and the only elevation that can be gained is by standing on it!
Having said that, models and books do have their place. They can act as guides and help steer us in particular directions. They may even point out completely new directions for us to follow and provide us with inspiration.
The hard part is knowing what we really want to achieve. What we might deem important as teenagers could change radically as we move into middle age and could be completely different in the final stages of our life.
If you are reading this then you will have received the First Initiation into the Light and Sound. To progress along the path you need to Meditate. There is plenty of advice available to assist you in this practice but this is not a substitute for actually Meditating. No person or book can Meditate for you.
You will discover that the Journey leads you to more and more simplicity so try not to complicate it. Use your time on the cushion as a break from the complexities of life; let go of the turmoil and embrace the Stillness.
This can be achieved by making your Meditation time special. Be mindful when you sit down…..as you let go of one world and enter another. Leave the thoughts of the day behind; you can always pick them up again after Meditating. See the act of Meditation like going on holiday.
Many of you will have complicated lives, partially of your own choosing and partly due to responsibilities that have been thrust upon you. No matter how complex your life is you can always enjoy simplicity when you Meditate. Once you are Meditating there are no responsibilities and absolutely nothing to strive for. Just let go and allow the Energies to work Their Magic; you don’t walk the Path, you are taken.
What could be simpler than that? Nothing!
