As I reflected on the Easter Grace period I was struck by a wonderful analogy that is present in the Natural World. It centres around the mechanism of lightning, one of Nature’s most spectacular displays of energy.
It starts with a build up of electrical charge in the clouds and sets up a potential between them and the Earth below. As a result tiny charged particles begin to accelerate in the air and collide with neutral particles, sometimes causing them to be charged.
The more energy that gathers in the clouds the more charged particles are created until eventually when the numbers reach a critical value an avalanche occurs. We know this as a bolt of lightning. For a short period of time a vast quantity of energy is communicated between the clouds and the Earth.
The clouds represent the Spiritual Realms.
The Earth is itself.
The little charged particles are us, the Initiates.
The neutral particles are the uninitiated people.
The collisions are our encounters with the people around us.
The successful collisions are the Initiations.
The avalanche is the exponential growth of this Path.
The time of the lightning strike is the Grace Period.
The lightning is of course the Energy being communicated from the Spiritual Realms to the physical plane.
What I really want to convey is how important each of us is, in the greater picture. For the lightning to strike we need a critical number of Initiates all working together for the common Cause. Even people that are not yet Initiated can have a significant effect by simply talking to those around them.
I personally was able to talk more easily to my family and friends before I was Initiated as I was in the same place as them. I merely stated what I had been told by the Initiates (these days include the website) and said, “ I don’t know if any of this is true but if I get initiated I promise I will return and tell you exactly what I experienced.” After I was Initiated it was more difficult as I was sat in a completely different position. I could, however, talk with more effect and of course authority to strangers. It all boils down to the saying, “You can’t be a prophet in your own home town.”
We should therefore encourage those that we are bringing along to speak out before they are Initiated. The people around them will be curious and will try to see changes (hopefully for the good). As a result we will potentially gather more “charged particles.”
Even if you are not sitting to attain a State of Consciousness during this time you can still contribute by Meditating as much as possible. The Energy will provide you with a greater potential to communicate with the Light and Sound. This in turn will generate teaching opportunities and give rise to realizations which are an important part of the journey. Without them it is more difficult to fully appreciate the Destination.
