Meditation and Retreats

After the First Initiation it is recommended that you Meditate for between 1 and 2 hours each day. The emphasis should always be on quality rather than quantity. Everybody is different, so try to find times during the day that suit you best and develop a regular program if possible. Make your Meditation times special and find a quiet and comfortable location for your cushion.

Although Meditation is something you do alone, it is wonderful to occasionally get together with other Meditators. This can be very inspiring and will give you the opportunity to share your Experiences and Realizations. Remember that only a very small number of people on the Planet are aware of the Light and Sound Energies. This is a perfect time to send Love and Light to the Planet and perhaps focus on particular areas where there are wars or famine.

Planning a whole weekend together will provide an environment that will give you a break from the demands and stresses of daily life. Obviously the emphasis should be on Meditation but you will have plenty of time to talk to each other during breaks and meal times. Be gentle with yourself; your time spent on the cushion should never be seen as an endurance.

If you find that longer sessions become uncomfortable – take short breaks. Avoid talking, just simply stretch your limbs and maybe have a small drink. Try also to reduce your food intake; you won’t be expending much physical energy and too much food will tend to make you sleepy.

Some of you may wish to experience even longer periods of Meditation by visiting a retreat. These are generally commercial ventures and vary tremendously in price. We never want money to be a important factor for people on the Path so we suggest the following alternatives. It may be possible for a small group to get together, in an Initiate’s house, and share the facilities and costs. Another idea, weather permitting, would be to travel into Nature and simply camp. You will soon discover sounds you were never aware of previously. Don’t let them bother you, let them simply be.

There are so many concepts as to what meditation is or what it is not. By trying to do longer Meditates on the Light and Sound you will gradually discover the Truth. It is possible to be aware of physical energies and Spiritual Energies simultaneously. During these sessions try experimenting. As well as long Meditations try a series of short Meditates. Try Meditating through the night. Sit next to a waterfall, a fast flowing river or by the sea. Attempt to Meditate in bright light or at night with your eyes open.

Be the Master of your environment never it’s slave!
