We are often asked whether Enlightened people have special powers sometimes referred to as “Siddhis”.

We have stated many times before that physical bodies, emotions and minds DON’T get Enlightened. So the Siddhis have nothing to do with Enlightenment. They exist within the lower vehicles. However, it is often said that they can be developed through the disciplines of meditation, which is where the confusion lies.

The Path that we represent has 2 goals, firstly the Initiation and Enlightenment of vast numbers of people and secondly the healing of the Planet. This will be achieved by synchronizing large groups of Initiates who are able to channel the Higher Energies.

I am sure the Hierarchy could give individuals powers that would impress those around them. Would this bring people to the Path? Maybe, but for all the wrong reasons, the people would come because they too would want the powers. They would be coming to serve themselves, not humanity.

A number of us have witnessed Siddhi powers being misused. It seems that when people have them the focus moves away from the Truth and instead to mere entertainment. It also creates divisions between those with and those without the powers leading to jealousies and egos.

Can an Enlightened person become successful in the World as a result of their State? The answer is yes but so can people who have never meditated. The meditator however practices one pointedness and concentration. If this is employed in daily life it can most definitely result in success.

Can an Enlightened person eat meat and drink alcohol? Yes, of course they can. However, hopefully they would try to reflect their State of Consciousness by setting high standards of behaviour. This will attract people to the Path and give us credibility. We can only be judged by our words and actions not by our Spiritual States which remains invisible. On a practical note, it is generally found that the ability to Meditate is enhanced by following a vegetarian diet and abstaining from alcohol and recreational drugs.

Finally it should be pointed out that our Adepts have the greatest power of all, that of Initiation. When they transmit the Light and Sound Energies they are creating the potential for the Meditator to attain Spiritual Enlightenment!
